Cornell University, Human Ecology Building

Ithaca, NY

The new Human Ecology building provides flexible classroom space, state of the art laboratories and a major commons that ties it to the existing College buildings. The facility is both a gateway to Cornell’s academic campus from the north campus residences and provides a new identity for the College of Human Ecology.

The building’s fully integrated building systems and high-performance features comply with NYS Executive Order 111 and contribute to its LEED Platinum certification.

The project received a 2012 Award of Merit from the American Institute of Architects New York State Chapter and the Grand Prize in the Education Showcase for 2013 from the College Planning & Management Magazine.
