Our design for Newark Central High School supports local school administrators in reaching their goals for the education of 1,200 students in grades 9-12. By improving the quality of the learning environments, the school district aims to improve the quality of student preparation for college and careers and to better incorporate parents and residents of the surrounding neighborhood into the school's daily activities.
The new 260,000-sf facility is a reflection of the aspirations of those living in the Newark community, for its innovative multiple house structure concentrates the efforts of educational professionals in three main areas: liberal arts, health & sciences, and the education of its youngest, most impressionable students, those in the ninth grade. A gymnasium, natatorium, auditorium, library, and healthcare, childcare, and sports facilities are all housed within the new building. This highly functional, efficient, and striking new school has come to symbolize the community's dedication to educating its next generation.
