IBI Group ▪ Gruzen Samton has worked with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) since 2006 when selected to be the Architect of Record for a multi-phase reorganization and infrastructure upgrade for their 200,000 SF primary facility. This project was completed in eight phases in an occupied building. The scope of work included programming, space planning, interior design, design development, construction drawings, furniture procurement and project management from inception through move-in.
In addition IBI Group ▪ Gruzen Samton has assisted NIAID with numerous other projects over the last few years including assisting with the design of their new 500,000 SF consolidated office facility. This project also included writing the detailed specifications for the demountable wall systems, systems furniture and all freestanding furniture items. Furniture and wall procurement tasks included preparation for an open competition on a national scale for this 20 million dollar procurement as well as design documents, shop drawing review and installation oversight.
IBI Group ▪ Gruzen Samton is currently the AOR for a design-build facilities upgrade for the Director’s Office on the NIH Campus. This project includes full design documents, swing space coordination, demountable wall and furniture re-use coordination and specifications for all new items. This phased project will be completed in four phases.
