The Riverdale Terrace assisted-living residence, on Johnson Avenue near West 235th Street, is designed to allow low-income elderly residents to age within their community in a dignified and independent fashion. The site is located on a quiet, tree-lined street in the Riverdale section of the Bronx, within walking distance of a busy shopping area.
The new seven-story brick building provides 58 one-bedroom units for elderly residents and one two-bedroom unit for a resident building manager. The building’s size and detailing are influenced by apartment buildings located on adjacent streets in the neighborhood. The building will own an outdoor garden and communal dining room with outdoor terrace.
