MAGEN DAVID YESHIVAH SCHOOL

Brooklyn, New York

2005

Magen David Yeshiva has served as the cornerstone of the Sephardic community of Brooklyn, New York for generations. Over 2,400 children are educated in remote school buildings throughout the Bensonhurst and Midwood neighborhoods. After spending more than a half century at their Avenue P property Magen David Yeshiva recognized the need for a new state-of-the-art facility that would reflect their ongoing dedication to providing quality education for their over 1600 students (First through Eighth). IBI Group – Gruzen Samton completed the seven story $40M building in 2005 on schedule and within the Yeshiva’s tight budgetary constraints. Our firm programmed the building to accommodate a synagogue, auditorium, cafeteria, gymnasium, multiple libraries, and science and art facilities. Also included in the school is a Beit Midrash or “house of learning”, prayer space, which doubles as a study hall. The school’s lobby, a spacious two-story room, was designed to be large enough to host school and community events.
