Brooklyn, New York
Our master plan update, completed in 2002 for Medgar Evers College, addressed the immediate needs of this urban campus. The deteriorated state of the prominent Carroll Street Building and its adjacent temporary trailers called for a fast solution. The building was scheduled for renovation and expansion in the third phase of an earlier master planning initiative, but serious structural and functional issues necessitated a more timely renovation. Furthermore, the building’s unappealing appearance and outdated facilities were limiting academic programs and discouraging enrollment at the college.
