TRIBECA POINTE

Battery Park, New York

2001

TriBeCa Pointe is a 42-story residential tower on a prominent site at the northern waterfront edge boundary of Battery Park City. The IBI Group Gruzen Samton design embodies characteristics from the surrounding classic office buildings and the nearby TriBeCa neighborhood. Furthermore, it represents a successful collaboration between the developer, design team, and the Battery Park City Authority (BPCA), the agency responsible for interpreting the established design guidelines for the area. The residential tower, recipient of five major design awards, soars more than 400’ into the air. The brick facade has punched windows that are reminiscent of New York’s classical apartment buildings. Contrasting curtain wall elements are characteristic of Battery Park City’s office buildings and accent the upper floors of the structure. The property contains inclusionary housing (80/20) in compliance with New York State Housing and Community Renewal criteria.
